Clean Hands, Dirty Heart (sermon audio: Sunday a.m.)

As Jesus went about healing the deaf and casting out demons in Mark 7, the Pharisees were much more concerned with whether or not this miracle worker and his disciples had washed their hands. Jesus then exposes their trite and hypocritical attitudes. Unfortunately, we are still just as guilty of this today in the modern church. We too have taken the holiness of God and turned it into the traditions of man. We have twisted scripture to justify our own agendas and masked our sin in legalism. Just like the Pharisees of the day, we desire to keep our relationship with Christ on the surface without being truly changed and healed from the real issues. We have “clean hands, but a dirty heart.”
