Fortis, Friday Night (8 - 11 p.m.)

Just a quick reminder to the men in the RBC area that tonight (2/25) is Fortis (8:00 - 11 p.m.).  The word Fortis is a latin term that means "to make strong."  We see it used in words that convey strength like "fortress", "fortify", "fortitude."  Through the Holy Spirit the gospel brings new strength into the lives of men and calls them to live morally strong.  Our culture is in desperate need of men with great moral and spiritual strength.

When explaining the power that healed the lame man in Acts 3:16 Peter says, "And his name—by faith in his name—has made this man strong."  Tonight (8 - 11 p.m.) we will gather together for three hours of prayer, Bible study, and worship so that the lives of men in our community may be made strong in the gospel.  Our topic will be "Spiritual Leadership."  We will be looking at the theme of priesthood throughout the Bible but especially in 1 Peter.  Life and its temptations can be intense, but Peter gives us a strong word about resolve, determination, and how to live a "no excuses" kind of life, which is the essence of fulfilling God's call upon our lives to be His holy and royal priesthood.

I hope to see you at Fortis, at RBC, tonight.
